Definition
Disease that disrupts the replacement of old bone tissue with new bone tissue. This is a rare condition where there is excessive bone destruction which is characterised by accelerated bone resorption. Paget's disease of bone most commonly occurs in the pelvis, skull, spine and legs.
Cauese
The cause is unknown but Paget's disease is felt to be a disease of a particular cell that is responsible for bone resorption, the osteoclast.
