Osteogenesis imperfecta
An inherited disorder characterised by extreme fragility of the bones.
Risk factor
People who are old between 40 and 80 and pregnant women.
Causes
Osteogenesis imperfecta is caused by a family gene that affects the body ability to produce collagen.If one parent has osteogenesis imperfecta,a child has a 50 chance of having the condition.

Medical management
Pamidionate administration by intravenous reduces the incidence of fracture and increases bone mineral density white reducing pain levels and increasing energy levels. Risedronate which are oral phosphonates such as risedronate may have some effect in reducing fractures in patients with osteogenesis imperfecta.

Is a group of developmental dysplasia of the hip and is a result of abnormal development of the proximal part of the femur or the acetabulum.
Risk factors
A family history of this condition. A history of breech presentation in the uterus. Common in among female infants.
cause
The cause is unknown but the investigations may show prenatal exposure to maternal hormones especially oestrogen.
Pathophysiology
In this disorder ,there is no contact between the head of femur and the acetabulum or contact exists, the hip socket is shallow and the femoral head can be dislocated by manipulated because it does not exert the pressure required. The femoral head becomes small and flat and with time does not fit in the shadow acetabulum. The ligaments supporting this joints are lax.
