is an inflammation of one or both testicles. It is usually caused by a bacterial infection or by the mumps virus.
Patophysiology
The infection may cause reddened scrotal skin and oedema, and extreme tenderness of the testicles and fever. permanent sterility may occur if both testes are affected whereas decreased fertility may result if only is affected
