        Temperament in Psychology: refers to those aspects of an individual's personality, such as introversion or extroversion, that are often regarded as innate rather than learned.

        Why is society so quick to label things?? Does psychology actually have credibility, or is it our attempt to help us understand the complexity of the self?

- - - - Multiple identities of black people as determined by America: America loves black people when they wanna "party", but the minute they slip up America is quick to punish them for it.
        
        How does race affect one's identity??

        Did Frank Lie? Does one's past help define who they are. Is Frank the man at the bedside which no one sees? Or is Frank the man at the lecture that everyone sees?

        They're only 9 years old, but these kids from around the world offer keen insight into how gender shapes destiny.

        This reaction made my sister want to be a tomboy, and made her choose actions differently. This makes me wonder how it affected her identity. Can identity be defined as choices we make??

        I have only just touched this part of my self a few times through the meditation we do in class and on my own.
      - False Self: An illusionary person that lack spiritual meaning and authenticity. Clings to achievement, success, power, etc for validation
        
        I see this part of me everyday when I look onto social media with envy, when I strive to get good grades for praise from my parents, and when I try to do activities for my resume and not for me.

        2) The concept of reality is confusing and impossible to fully comprehend. Life might even be an illusion.
        
        "But now they only block the sun they rain and they storm on everyone, so many things I would've done, but clouds got in my way" She starts to acknowledge the dark side of life which she has also preceived.

        I really don't know life at all" Life is incomprehensible no matter how many ways you look at the world, you will never understand it

        In living every day" Example of different human perceptions viewing change. She thinks the change is a good thing, while her friends do not.
        
        Perception determines how you feel, act, and think. It helps shape your ideas and can have a big impact on one's identity.

        "Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels, the dizzy dancing way you feel as every fairytale comes real I've looked at love that way" Experiencing love for the first time
        
        "Tears and fears and feeling proud to say "I love you right out loud" Dreams and schemes and circus crowds I've looked life that way" Older love, more deep
        
        1) Aging changes perception
    - - People all interpret the world differently
        
        Phones: You can now view the whole world through your phone which opens you to information to change your perception of things. Sometimes impacts the way you receive information in conversations due to lack of facial expression and tone of voice.
        
        ALONE TOGETHER
        
        Ways to stop Nature Deficit Disorder: Into the wild type of adventures, meditation, experience things through your eyes and not your phone, get comfortable with boredom, and defamiliarization.
        
        I have been doing more and more outdoor adventures this year and it has helped me tremendously with becoming a happier person.

        Effects of Technology on Identity: Goldilocks effect=perfect distance. Lack of face to face relationships. Feeling that no-one is listening to us Experience pretend empathy from technology

        Influence of capitalism: Having high social status on social media can now make you money
        
        Faking the Funk
        
        This is a picture of me faking the funk in high school. We took a photo at this wall because it didn't show how lame the party was. I captioned it, "she made the party" because she was my only friend there. This made realize that I fake the funk a lot and need to stop faking happiness to appear better on social media. Instead I need to go out and experience things for myself.
