examine texture of the scrotum

patterns of micturition
difficulty in voiding,dysuria
nocturia
heamaturia and pyuria due to trauma
testes
nurses should ensure that patient has observed testes changes in size
patient observed filling of scrotum if any
pain and tension in testes and scrotum reported
examine testes for masses,swelling and mobility
assess erectile dysfunctioning eg libido
assess chronic illness[hypertension,DM and athritis]
unusual discharge in the penis
patients age and stress level
heamatospermia
painful intercourse
alcohol intake and medication
premature ejaculation
objective data
include physical examination[inspection and palpation
symmetry and presence of both testes
inspect penis for presense and position of meatus to exclude hyper- and hypospadias
rugae and testes size
gloved and lubricated finger can be inserted into rectum to palpate size ,shape and consistency of prostate gland
examine enlargement of male breasts ,lesions,discharge and masses.
prostate gland should be examined through rectum by digital examiination
