Learning Numbers
DESIGN
-
Activities
Write numbers on board and have students try to do what I do (testing their knowledge before we begin)
-
Students will be given 10 pennies. I will state a number and they will put that many pennies to the side. I will then make sure they put the correct amount aside.
Testing
A "pre-test" will be given. I will have students write the numbers on their own as I write them on the board to see if they have a general idea of numbers and how they look
-
DEVELOP
A practice run will be done. I will teach the lesson to a child in the same age group as my students.
Any kinks will be worked out in this stage so the lesson is very easily understood and taught to the best of my ability.
ANALYSIS
Students can count and write their numbers through 10.
Students can identify how many items are given to them.
Students can determine their age. Needed Materials
- Pencil and paper
- Whiteboard, markers, and eraser.
- Pennies (to count)
A pre-test will be given to determine my student's preexisting knowledge of numbers. (Most can probably already count to 10)
-
EVALUATE

I will have all of the students write their age and count to that number. This shows that they can apply it to a real-world scenario and will meet the final objective..
