These diverse needs can range from a gifted student who is also a child in poverty, a gifted child who is on the autism spectrum, and a gifted child with any kind of learning disability. As an educator of gifted students, we need to make sure that we are giving them the best education possible, and we need to be able to identify their needs. Also, keeping in mind that gifted students also have different intelligences, teachers need to accommodate for those needs as well. Some kinesthetic gifted learners would need more hands on projects, visual learners might benefit from turning assignments into drawings or creating video responses. Project based learning is a huge part of gifted education and it will work well when differentiating instruction for the gifted learner.
