Epithelial Tissue
Covers body surface and lines body cavities, protects underlying tissue, secretes hormones and fluid to lubricate for movement, absorbs incoming materials.
-
Simple Cuboidial Epithelium: Single layer of cube shaped cells that are used for absorption and secretion
Simple Columnar Epithelium::Single layer of long and tall shaped cells used for absorption and secretion of mucus and enzymes ect...
Pseudostratified Columnar Epithelium: Single layered columnar cells that vary in their heights used for secretion, primarily of mucus through cilia propulsion
Stratified Squamous Epithelium: Several layers of squamous cells make a thick membrane layer, basal cells are cuboidal or columnar. Protects under layer or deeper tissue where abrasion is pausible.
Stratified Cuboidal Epithelium:: Two or more layers of cube like cells used for protection of other areas.
Stratified Columnar Epithelium: Several layers of cells with the outer couple layers long and tall shaped columnar cells
Transitional Epithelium: Apical layer of cells are squamous like while deeper cells are columnar or cuboidal in appearance but surface cells change shape as organs stretch. Allows urinary organ to stretch.
Connective Tissue
Connects tissue and organs together, form the basis of bone and cartilage, store and carry nutrients, fight infections, and surround blood vessels and neurons.

-
Blood Vessels: Carries nutrients, gases and other substances essential for body function, and also delivers waste for removal
-
Nervous Tissue
Found in the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. This tissue regulates the body and its functions and allows for communication between cells.
