tachypnea/apnea: grunting, nasal flaring
acidosis
lethargy
feeding intolerance
glucose instability
Blood infection
1week or <90 days
<72 hours = early onset
Complications
meningitis
high mortality (avg 25%)
disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC)
