General:
Title: Exploring waste prevention behavior
Date of publishing: 16.July. 2018
Main idea/goal of the article:
The research aims to provide a more nuanced view by examining the determinants of individual behaviour when deciding to either purchase a certain item or to extend the life of an owned item through repair or reuse activities.
Summary
The problem that the
author(s) wished to explore/solve:
(1) Study the importance of understanding the consequences and personal norms for shaping positive attitudes toward waste prevention; (2) Exploring the relationship between attitudes and perceived behavioral control of waste prevention by testing the mediating effects of perceived behavioral control and waste prevention behavior relationship.
Methods:
375 Questionnaires. Date analysis (To verify the hypothesis proposed)
Types of evidence
: Authors used Statistical data tables and graphs
There are 5 parts of the article
Introduction
Materials and Methods:
Theoretical framework and research hypotheses
The context of the study and data description
3.Measurement of the constructs
Result
: 1. Assessment of the measurement mode 2. Testing hypotheses
Discussion
: Theoretical contribution
Policy and managerial implications
Conclusion
: The findings show that awareness of consequences is a fundamental driver of waste prevention attitudes, and they confirm a positive relationship between attitudes and perceived behavioural control. Finally, a positive significant relationship was found between the perceived behavioural control and waste prevention behaviour and between social norms and waste prevention behaviour.
