DEFINITION

Infectious diarrhea.Diarrhea may be mild, accompanied by slight dehydration, or it may be extremely severe, requiring prompt and effective treatment.

There is damage to the villous brush border of the intestine, causing malabsorption of intestinal contents and leading to an osmotic diarrhea.
