Under the Education Act, principals can't keep information from parents.
Under the Child & Youth Act, children under 12 can't keep information from parents.
Health services may offer privacy.

Any age child can access counselling. Healthcare provider says when you are not able to make decisions. Parent is default until age 16 where can appoint own substitute decision-maker
Social assistance
16 or 17 can get social assistance if in school full time. If parent's say they'll take them back they lose assistance.
Housing
Can live on own at 16. If kicked out at 16 or 17, can have a voluntary agreement with CAS. Agreement may be denied if living with boyfriend/girlfriend because not seen in immediate need.
15 and under go to CAS. If they call for social assistance, social assistance calls CAS.
