What are the effects of the Spanish conquest of the Americas?

Disease
Immediate effects: The immediate effect of the European bringing animals and food into America was that the natives started eating new animals, and creating new foods. Some of the animals were used for transport, such as the horse, and the ox. however, the trade went 2 ways. The Europeans brought back thins as well, such as tomatoes, pineapples, and many other exotic foods such as avocados. The food that was made had around three times more calories and was able to feed more people with less food, causing an increase in population and a decrease in living prices
Immediate effects: The immediate effect of the Europeans bringing disease was that many of the Americans were infected with many diseases such as smallpox. These diseases affected the native American population by killing off many leaders and killing thousands of commoners. This caused some of the early fights because the Aztec people thought that their leaders were being killed on purpose. It was difficult to document the precise impact that the diseases caused in the early times. The reason that they were dying so easily is that their immune system was adapted for other diseases and the foreign disease was unfamiliar to them.

Immediate effects: The immediate effects of the Spanish increasing their knowledge on the world was the understanding of the other cultures, and the understanding that they aren't the only people in the world. They started basing their opinions on other people and started deciding who was stronger, and who was more powerful. The exchange between the Spanish and the Americans doubled the amount of people in the world, in a very short time.
long-term effects: The long-term effects on the increased understanding on the world through the Spanish is that we know more about heritage, and more about the customs and Long-term that were performed back then, and an increased understanding on how humans have evolved. America became a central hub for many religions and beliefs because of the amount of slaves taken out and Spanish taken in, there was many religions and races mixed together.
Immediate effects: The people back where the Spanish were, were not fit enough for slavery, so they bought ship-loads of African slaves back to their home. Immediate effects of the Spanish slave trades were many people losing their family and friends, and many people being separated from their usual life to do hard labor work. The hard labor wasn't only a bad thing, because it resulted in many good things such as new roads, buildings, and a boosted economy.
Long-term effects: The long-term effects of the Spanish bringing food and animals into the Americas were: many new foods that the Aztecs had invented, that have continued to be made to this day. These foods include one of the modern-day favorites, churros. The Spanish bought tobacco into the Americas, and tobacco killed more people during world war 2 than actual soldier deaths. Pizza in Italy, potatoes in Ireland, all come from the exchange between the Spanish and the Americas exchanging foods.
Long-term effects: The long-term effects of the Spanish slave trade is that we now know that the slave trade is wrong, and we have a new outlook on racism and equality. We have learned about people being treated wrong and also about how we need to show more empathy.
Long-term effects: The long-term effects of the Europeans bringing disease into the Americas are that we now have increased understanding on disease and how to cure them. It has stopped many diseases that could have later appeared and wiped out many more people than it did back then.
Overview: To conclude, the slave trade was a terrible thing to look back on, but it had many advantages back then, such as an increased economy, and very large amounts of work got done by the African slaves that were bought back. It taught us about racial equality, and how racism is wrong, and how to show people empathy, and fix these problems
Overview: To conclude diseases, the Spanish brought many bad diseases to the Americas, which resulted in many deaths and deaths of the leaders of tribes, but also resulted in many modern day medical advances. The Spanish also took diseases back to Europe, but there wasn't as much of a catastrophic effect for them.
Overview: To conclude food, the Spanish brought many foods in and out of the Americas, which resulted in more carbohydrates in food, which resulted in cheaper living costs for more people, and an increase in the population of the world. It resulted in many good foods such as pizza, chips, and other popular foods.
Overview: To conclude, the Colombian Exchange brought increased knowledge of the world, increased individuality and diversity, in culture especially. It transformed America into a cultural hub where there were many religions and races all mixed together but resulted in many customs being lost.
