Antianginal
Name of drug
-
Indications
it is clinically indicated as initial therapy in nearly all types of myocardial ischemia, chronic exertional angina, de novo angina, unstable angina, Prinzmetal's angina (vasospasm).
Contraindication
Obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, pronounced hypovolemia, inferior myocardial infarction with right ventricular involvement, raised intracranial pressure, cardiac tamponade.
Side effects
Heache, hypotension, facial flushing, and tachycardia
-
-
Mechanism of action
Nitrates inhibit coronary vasoconstriction or spasm, increasing perfusion of the myocardium and, thus relieving vasosplastic angina. In addition, nitrites relax the veins (venodilation), decreasing preload and myocardial oxygen consumption. because of this action, nitrates are effective in treating effort-induced angina (class angina).
Name of drug

-
Contraindications
Asthma, diabetes, severe bradycardia, peripheral vascular disease and chronic pulmonary disease
Side effects
Diastolic depolarisation, Action potential duration and the QT interval may shorten with adrenergic blockers
-
Mechanism of action
Inhibits the late phase of the sodium current, improving the oxygen supply and demand equation
