Gaining attention
A title slide, sometimes called a splash screen, can be used to gain attention.
In the beginning of a lesson, abrupt stimulus change will help to gain students' attention.

Helps students focus on important ideas, ignore unnecessary details, and avoid distractions.
Presenting content in slides can limit the use of words since teacher can embed pictures and use animation that can help students to focus to the stimulus one by one.
