America had become more populated and houses started moving closer together, people had less acres and more neighbors.
The American Dream turned to where people weren't dreaming of the classic "White Picket Fence" anymore. They wanted more appliances and more money. They also wanted the average family and good jobs. That is now the American Dream.

"Sweet as a millionaire", "Live like you haven't a care", "All yours for ten percent down." All concepts of the American Dream.
The technology and automobiles were changing drastically, and people were starting to have different opinions about THEIR American Dream.
