shipping container
plot of land
10ft (3048mm)
20ft (6092mm)
40ft (12184mm)
living area will be smaller than the container because of insulation and weathering protection
the shipping container will be a recycled one
the module will be as eco-friendly as possible
electrics
heating
water boiler
solar power
wind power
modern technology will be used in the insulation to maximise its performance due to the small size, a thinner layer will be needed to maximise the space inside
heating up water with minimum power is the goal
using as little new material as possible, and what material used must be brought in from sites local to the production site to reduce the carbon footprint
the target audience depends on the design of the house
varied
smaller cheaper modules would be perfect for first time buyers or young families
housing with no stairs would better suit the elderly
flats or modules stacked or bunched together would be efficient to house students in cities
houses designed around art would be a perfect thing to rent out to people as a holiday home or second home
houses with the maximum amount of eco-friendly options and money saving strategies would be very popular for a large range of people
the cost of the module will vary as to what you want the module to do/consist of
more floors will be more expensive
the location of the module will also affect the price
cities are more expensive places to buy land
countryside land is cheaper
this is why flats would be much cheaper in cities as they can be built multiple modules high
the aesthetics of the product will change as to what the consumer would like
the module will also look different if it is going to be stacked or singular
there will be a set production line of standard modules but the buyers can pay extra to get more kit added
house people
eco-friendly
cheap to manufacture
save the homeowner money
one of the functions of the module is to provide spacious living area using minimal land
the module has to be as Eco-friendly as possible as well as being affordable

reduces eye sore locations in the city
using solar power

modern insulation in walls, floor and ceiling
draught excluders
should be able to provide accommodation for a family for a lifetime
to be built and moved to site within a month
when being demolished in the near future, all recyclable material will be recycled.
no sharp edges
no high falls
barriers near stairs
no slippery floor
no loose parts
no piping or wiring on show
it should take no longer than a month to manufacture and transport the house to the site
the product must be something new
if it is not new it must be something similar to what exists but better or can do something different
if the product is not new or special no one will consider buying it
using CAD to design the product will help me as i will be able to do a 3D walk around and see everything in proportion
modelling the product
I will use card to model the product
I will use 4mm board to model further
