        Doing work on a gas will increase its temperature as it increases the gas' internal energy eg with a bike pump.

        Gamma rays are used as medical tracers as they can be sent through the body to see if it is functioning properly. Like Iodine 123 which is absorbed by the thyroid gland can test if it is working or not. The radiation used is most commonly gamma since ist can travel out the body and is not very ionizing and it will also have a short half-life so radioactivity in the patient disappears quickly.
      - Radiotherapy
        Radiotherapy is when radiation such as gamma rays are directed at cancer cells ad kill them in order to treat cancer without harming other cells.
