investing actually aligned very well with my values in terms of the work I want to be able to accomplish and the environment I aspire to work within. For example, making capital allocation decisions that are socially responsible has a triple benefit: for clients (individuals, pensions, foundations, institutions), for supporting companies with strong corporate governance and social responsibility (leads to superior economics), and for the firm as a whole (better performance yields more clients/increased commitments from existing clients and strengthens thesis that sustainable companies can outperform. This combines my interest of global development and business in a tangible and exciting way. In terms of the work environment, I have always been keen to learn from those around me.
