ACNE
Light therapy. Evidence shows exposure to blue light suppresses the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes, which plays a major role in acne-related inflammation. Overall, light therapy is a very effective acne treatment option with minimal side effects. A review of published evidence found that as many as 85% of patients who underwent light therapy achieved at least a 50% reduction in acne severity.

Blue light has historically been the most commonly used light for the treatment of acne, although doctors now tend to prefer a combination of blue + red light. Blue light covers the spectrum from 407 to 420 nm. When blue light reaches the sebaceous (oil) glands in the skin, it can excite compounds produced by acne bacteria called porphyrins.2-4When excited by light, these porphyrins kill the bacteria.5Researchers are not sure whether blue light works in other ways as well.
?photosensitiserWith acne in particular, methyl aminolevulinate (MAL) may be a better choice as photosensitizing agent since it may have a higher affinity for fatty environments like sebaceous glands and the sebum (skin oil) therein. MAL may also achieve deeper skin penetration than ALA.

rochay ecclar : medicated gel cleanser and effaclar duo. With a medicated gel cleanser, clarifying solution, and acne treatment, this takes care of acne from all angles. “This is the best system,” says Elizabeth Tanzi, M.D., founder and director of Capital Laser & Skin Care and associate clinical professor at the George Washington University Medical Center. “Just like the other popular acne systems, it has salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, but the 'secret' ingredient that makes this a winner is the LHA micro-exfoliator. It helps to gently clean pores without irritation,” she says.
