Innocence
Examples
An example of innocence is when Lennie pleads to George that he didn't kill the mouse but he found the mouse dead. He wants to tell George that he didn't kill it and wants to have mercy.
An example of innocence is when Lennie tells George that he didn't mean to hurt Curley when he crushed his hand. Lennie was pleading for mercy and wanting to let George know that he didn't do it on purpose and he wants to still tend the rabbits.

Friendship
Example
An example of friendship is George and Lennie. Throughout the Novella George and Lennie are constantly showing signs of friendship as they are constantly helping each other and George is giving Lennie assistance with what to do.
Another example of friendship is when George shoots Lennie in the head. This is friendship as George knows that Curley will kill Lennie so George finds Lennie and instead of being frantic and making Lennie panic he killed Lennie when he is relaxed.

Hopes, dreams and plans.
Examples
An example of hopes and dreams is when they think of buying a piece of land. This has been their dream because when they are on the farm Lennie doesn't have to go into town and that is where he usually gets into trouble
Another example of hopes and dreams is having rabbits on the farm. This is more of Lennie's dream as he will be able to tend the rabbits. He will also be able to pet them and care for them.
