Types of Inflammation
Acute
Injury is minimal and sudden onset, source is quickly removed from tissue
Chronic
If injury to tissue persists, inflammatory response longer lasting
Granulomatous
Form of chronic inflammation, formation of granulomas. Body unable to destroy offending substances and tries to enclose them in masses of inflammatory cells
