On page 166, Lib reveals her close mindedness in relation to religion coming from her time in Scutari. Through seeing all the pain, suffering, and agony, she believes that " if the creator can't prevent such abominations, what good is he?" (169). This raises an important question in regards to the nature of possessing faith and its role in one's life. Is one's faith or religious beliefs something they develop on their own, or is it merely a summation of their life events?
