Thanks to a school announcement, Blake found out about an opportunity to do something with meaning. The process of learning, listening, and taking care of patients at hospice gave Blake helped him realize how much of an impact small actions can have on people. Simply sitting down, listening, and asking questions about one's lifetime can brighten the day of a patient as well as anyone else. While an outsiders' perspective on palliative care may be negative, Blake's intentions were to change that into a positive light. He believes that altering the image of hospice into an atmosphere of sincere comfort is essential for hospices across the nation.
