and tools (Check with technical teams the use of existing platforms/solutions) to be tested in different pilots in order to innovate the formulation and testing of new urban governance models that transition EU cities towards a more circular economy. In association with the industrial supply chains and the movement of those resources needed to satisfy the needs of urban populations, the model developed will support cities in: reducing their carbon emissions, extending the value of products, materials and resources, increase sustainable and resource-efficient, and minimise the generation of waste. Such a transition not only represents “an essential contribution to the EU's efforts to develop a sustainable, low carbon, resource efficient and competitive economy” but is also considered a key “opportunity to transform our economy and generate new and sustainable competitive advantages for Europe” (reference needed).
