Lower Limb Patient
Aggs: taking off shoes, bumping leg, stretching, touching toes, squatting, exercise bike. Eases: dencorub, voltaren and ice
PmHx:
- achilles tendinopathy, rx: calf raise iso, stretching with band, lunges
- (L) knee stopping him from squatting so he changed to deadlifts.

Young 20 yr old boy was performing a 270kg deadlift for 1RM and felt hamstring tear. Was training for a comp in 5 weeks time and usually deadlifts 240-250 for 5-6reps
Tried to stretch it and made it worse, finding it difficult to walk. Rested and didnt walk for a week.

After a week of rest went back to work as child carer 5x a week and started to feel Achilles tendon tighten up and pushing off quite hard.

Young patient who enjoys discussing gym, music and work related things. Easy to get on with and not hard to build rapport and is willing to do all his exercises and give you his all.
The mechanism of injury combined with the patients location of pain help to confirm what the scans were showing.
