- - - - I look for when people aren't saying things
        
        people are not speaking up because
        
        they get punished
        
        others spoke before
      - So toxic culture is if different people in different part of the organization have the autonomy to execute inside the organization
        
        autonomy
        
        first you need permission
        
        it's like flying a plane or a car, you have permission, that's greate
        
        so now you have permission but you need the skills (flying a plane)
        
        so next is to have resources
        
        in order to be autonomouse you need be a goal,
        
        you have to have accountability
        
        autonomy without accountability is vacation
        
        there are things that are arbitrary decisions, idioms, conventions
        
        To have autonomy I have to know how good looks like in this organization
        
        If you don't have permission
        
        thats a toxic culture
        
        if I don't have accountability I will just drift
        
        if I don't have autonomy...
        
        if I don't know what the norms I will fail
        
        so thse 5 things are needed, if you don't have any of them , autonomy, permision, accountability, resources, it might lead to a toxic culture.
      - Asking questions to figure out from the outside if you are a fit
        
        figure out the culture from every conversation of the company
        
        once you define your definition of toxicity you know what questions to ask.
        
        if someone always can override my decision then Have a nice day

        But I was observant enough to see it
        
        you are not trying hard enough if you don't screw up
      - create a culture for people to take risk
        
        let them break the build because you are trying things that they have not tried before.
  - - - they make it at scale
        
        every monday at 10 o'clock they have screw up of the week
        
        somethimes there's a queue to tell it
        
        usually there are operational screwups
        
        they make it like a case study
        
        noticed it
        
        recognized it
        
        responded to it
        
        reacted
        
        this is how we resolved it
        
        fun way to start the week
        
        it embeds that it's ok to screw up, and the learning you got from it is important.
