INTERVENTIONS
High-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scanning is the most frequently used imaging test to establish the diagnosis of bronchiectasis. (Secondary care)
Investigations to determine the underlying cause of bronchiectasis include: Testing for cystic fibrosis, Testing for cystic fibrosis, Tests of ciliary function, Bronchoscopy, Gastrointestinal investigations.
Sputum culture, Chest X-ray — to exclude other pathology and to help confirm the diagnosis where disease is severe.
Post-bronchodilator spirometry, Assess for the presence of anxiety or depression,Document the person's smoking history, Calculate the person's body mass index.
MANAGMENT
Lifestyle advice diet, exercise, and smoking cessation (if necessary)
