Is 'Insurance' to genearl for a specialism?

London Market is a good specialism - Innovation / digitalisation is a good generalism
Don't get too hung up on it, your career will flow through the path of least resistance. Never has it been easier to Pivot, and career is but one aspect of your life. family and hobbies friends etc should be considered in the mix.
I know there's an element of Fake it till you Make it, but I don't know where to begin.
If I read this right, you feel like there are probably some basic 'rules to the game' that you don't yet know, and you can't even start practising without knowing these, but don't have a clue where to find the rules.
- Self confidence and optimism get a lot of people started, they aren't daunted by what they don't know, but if they knew how little they knew, they probably would never get started.
- If you are still thinking about being the 'right hand woman' to the CEO - (which I think is a really fantastic career aim, btw) - then I think it is entirely possible to learn the basics of an entire company, department by department.
Richard Branson famously needs (either, i forget which) green or red indicators, or thumbs up / thumbs down, on his company reports, because he just doesn't get the basic metrics that most CEO's live or breathe by.

Formal learning
MBA - expensive option? .. but do you think you could 'stick it' out to the end?
definitely something about appreciating the value and volume of what you DO know, rather than worrying about what you don't
Think about what you could teach someone?
Basic consulting tool-kit of analysis skills, can get you through many situations.
find inspirational teachers (some serendipity required here), go on courses, immerse yourself in the business processes, write notes, explain it to someone else, hone your questions (Tim Ferris DISS).
'Demystification' is a skill, and a passion. For me its a strong driver in why I do what I do. I'm an 'autodidact' - someone who teaches themselves / is passionate about learning.
Conscious this wasn't high up your list of strengths ... so I'd question slightly whether it's really for you?
