Shoot shorter, sense of distortion but also puts audience uncomfortably close to the manchild
Swap to normal focal lengths after little girl reveal, we're seeing the world as it really is
9.5mm Wide, 12mm GoTo Normal, 16mm Closeups (19mm, 24mm, 32mm for S35)
Then: 12mm and 16mm Wides, 25mm GoTo Normal and 50mm closeups (24mm, 32mm, 50mm, 100mm for S35)
Shoot open, 16mm has very wide depth of field. Need to accommodate.

Film Stock
500T - Fastest, tungsten. Very grainy.
200T - Less grainy, but slower
250D - Daylight, relatively fast
50D - Slow AF, super clean. Only feasible outdoors
Feeling a mix of 200T and 250D if we know we can get enough light. Cleaner images, will look less 16mm more 35mm.

Framing
Mother framed quite artistically, extremes. Edges of frame for wides, unusual angles

Idea: Overhead shot, fat man in doorway. Mother vulnerable on toilet.
Manchild Left of frame, normally reserved for protagonist. Mother right, looking left to the past. Also reserved for antagonist.
Western audiences read left to right, ensuring that they always see manchild first
Lighting
8 or 16-1 contrast ratio, nice amount of contrast. Neither flat nor crazily contrasted. 32-1 maybe, chat to Rimnus
Mixed colour temps, daylight used organically. But for motivated lights chuck on some more tungsten gels.
One point lighting, or at least dominated by naturalistic keys
