Economy
Most of the economy of the new england colonies consisted of live fishing, whaling, and shipbuilding. This was due to the colony being so close to the atlantic ocean
Another reason for this different economy in the new england region of the colonies was because the climate had greatly impacted the economic activities of the new england region. Also farming was very difficult in the region because of the poor soil that was in the new england region.
But crop such as corn, pumpkin, rye, squash, and bean were able to be planted.
The types of fish that the colonists fished for included cod, mackerel, herring, halibut, hake, bass, and sturgeon.

The people of the new england colonies were primarily of the religious kind because most of the colonies were established by the puritans that had come on the mayflower and established the first permanent colony known as plymouth colony.

Fun Facts
The first attempt at colonizing the new england region was by the colonists who had colonized the colony known as Roanoke. This colony is famously known for mysteriously having all of its colonists disappear without a trace.
There was really no religious freedom in the region because the puritans did not tolerate any other forms of religion.
