The major factor that determines when a period starts and ends is the total biological diversity. Once it has a drastic decline, a new period begins.
Three Things that I learned: 1) My biggest takeaway of this project was the idea that a new period was determined by the total biological diversity there is in the planet. 2) In order to life to evolve in the planet, (sun) had to ignite. I understood this because it it at the beginning of Earth's timeline. 3) Lastly, I learned that prokaryotes evolved first in the planet rather than eukoryotes.
