Detailed check of all systems
Before initial use and following service or repair
By trained service personnel

At the start of each anaesthetic list
Ultimately the responsibility of the anaesthetist

Before commencing anaesthesia for each patient
Ultimately the responsibility of the anaesthetist
Level 2 check
High pressure system (reserve cylinder, gas supply pipes)
Low pressure system (flow indicators)
Inhalational anaes delivery device (liquid level ok, fillin gport sealed, correctly seated and locked)
Breathing system (overall integrity, leak test APL 30cmH2O FGF 300 hold pressure for 10s, APL valve open and ensure gas escape, 2 bag test for valves
Automatic ventilator system - alarms working
Scavenging
Emergency vent system (AMBU)
IV and LA delivery drivers
Suction
Level 3 check
If it has been changed do level 2 check
Inhalational anaes delivery device
Breathing system as for Level 2
