GINGIVITIS
Definition
An inflamation of thegum margin causing the gums to separate from the teeth. Pockets from between the gums and teeth then pus and bacteria can collect and form periodontitis.

Pathophysiology
Untreated gingivitis can progress to gum diseases to underlying tissues and bone, serious condition that can cause complications.The bacteria from there enter blood stream through gum tissue and affect your heart, lungs and other parts.

STOMATITIS
Definition
Stomatitis is the inflammation of the angles of the mouth cavity which also includes lips, gums and inner part of the cavity.

CANDIDADIS( ORAL THRUSH)
Definition
A candida infection of the mouth and sometimes of the pharynx commonly present as a painful patches that can be scraped off the tongue and buccal mucosa. This condition usually occurs in the babies up to one month of age.

Pathophysiology
When one fail to perform good oral care , bacteria also invades in the oral cavity and this sometimes economic factor worsen the situation as failing to get balanced diet with vitamin nutrients, and also prolonged use of antibiotics irritates oral cavity and form patches that can be scraped.

Aphthous ulcers
Definition
This ulcers are painful ulcers in the oropharynx and usually heal within two weeks .Aphthous ulcers are the common problems that occur in the mouth. It is characterised by a painful oral or esophageal sore on a mucous membrane. It is a small sensitive painful ulcer of the mouth. Aphthous ulcers are also known as Canker sores.
Causes

Bacterial infections, such as stomach ulcers caused by the bacterium, H. pylori is also one of the main cause of aphthous ulcer.
Stress or trauma in the mouth, such as biting the tongue, is the main cause of aphthous ulcer.
Symptoms-

Painful sore or sores inside your mouth on your tongue, under your tongue, inside your cheeks or lips, and at the base of your gums.

Round, white sores with a red edge can also be seen in the patient of aphthous ulcer.

Skin lesion on mucous membranes of the mouth may occur, which are painful and begins as a red spot.
MANAGEMENT
Avoid products or food mostly acidic food, that you know exacerbate ulcers.

It is used to reduce the pain, and may help ulcers to heal more quickly. A steroid lozenge works faster.

The use of benzydamine spray, or choline salicylate gel is very beneficial for the treatment of aphthous ulcer.
