TYPES of ENERGY
NUCLEAR
Nuclear power is the use of nuclear reactions that release nuclear energy to generate heat, which most frequently is then used in steam turbines to produce electricity in a nuclear power plant. Nuclear power can be obtained from nuclear fission, nuclear decay and nuclear fusion.

EOLIC
Renewable energy source. Used to generate mechanical power or electricity. The Turbines convert the kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical power. The opposite of a fan, instead of generating wind with electricity, it generates electricity with the wind.

THERMAL
It is the energy contained in a system responsible for its temperature, heat is its flow. When two bodies are near to each other, one cold and the other hot, they start to transfer energy so they will reach the same temperature

SOLAR
Energy from the sun that is converted into thermal or electrical energy. The cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source. There are ways to harness solar energy, for example, photovoltaics, solar heating and cooling, concentrating solar power, and passive solar.

GEOTHERMAL
It is the heat from inside the earth. This heat is produced mostly from the natural decay of radioactive materials like uranium or potassium. We can obtain this energy almost from everywhere, from some deep wells to the dirt of our backyard.

BIOMASS
is the organic material that comes from plants and animals. Biomass contains stored energy from the sun. When biomass is burned we obtain energy from heat. We can burn it directly or convert it into biofuel

HYDRAULIC
Produced by water that is stored in reservoirs and lakes at a high altitude for it to also have gravitational potential energy. It’s transformed into kinetic energy and afterwards into electrical energy in the hydroelectric plant.

MECHANICAL

The kinetic energy, K, depends on the speed of an object and is the ability of a moving object to do work on other objects when it collides with them
The potential energy, U, depends on the position of an object subjected to a conservative force. It is defined as the object's ability to do work and is increased as the object is moved in the opposite direction of the direction of the force.
HYDROELECTRIC
Made by moving water. To harness it, the water must be controlled. Large reservoir are created, such as dams. The water flows through the dam’s tunnels and causes the turbines to move, thanks to that the generator starts moving and produce electricity.

TIDAL
Tidal power or tidal energy is a form of hydropower that converts the energy obtained from tides into useful forms of power, mainly electricity
Tidal power is taken from the Earth's oceanic tides.A tidal generator converts the energy of tidal flows into electricity. Greater tidal variation and higher tidal current velocities can dramatically increase the potential of a site for tidal electricity generation
