Definition
Psoriasis is a chronic, recurring, non-infectious dermatitis cahracterised by increased production of epidermal cells, keratin, which constantly flake off the skin surface as scales or plaques. The rate at which the cells are produced does not allow for normal growth and maturation of cells, and the normal protective layer of the skin does not form.
