MAKING IT LOOK GOOD
-
KEEPING IT SIMPLE
This is easier said than done. Try to stick to only a few font colours, one for the heading, one for the main text and one for highlighting key points.
Try to stick to bullet points, large paragraphs of text should not be included if at all possible
PICTURES
Images can really help to enhance your presentation if used correctly. The general rule is one or two appropriate images on a slide.
-
SOUND
Again, sound can enhance your presentation, but make sure that it isn't so loud that it would drown out you speaking and make sure that it won't distract your audience from what you are saying.
COLOURS
Think about the colours you are using, some colours clash with one another, other colours don't project well onto a screen
BACKGROUND
Think about the choice of background you use. You may like it, but some backgrounds are so distracting that the audience would find it hard to focus on the presentation

Introduction:
presentations are used for many various things and activities, in which somebody wants to explain or show something to someone. a presentation is usually presented by flashing the slide show on the screen, and someone talks in front, usually providing further information about the topic.
-
Who uses presentations?
many people and many jobs require the presence of a presentation to explain new ideas and inventions to either subordinates or bosses or managers
Sales People:
they usually use presentations to present things to their colleagues, clients and managers or customers. They need to be able to present facts and figures perhaps to let managers know sales performances or perhaps to show customers their latest products
Most medium to large sized companies have a human resource department who will be involved in training new employees or providing training schemes for existing employees.
-
Presentation software is regularly used during conferences. Speakers will project their key points onto a large screen whilst they talk about the subject.
-
ADVANTAGES
-
-
-
-
Presentations can be easily output to different formats e.g. interactive whiteboard, digital projector, handouts
-
-
-
-
DISADVANTAGES
It is difficult for the audience to take notes while the presentation is taking place, otherwise they lose concentration
-
-
It is all too easy to make a very bad presentaiton with too many animation effects and too much text, images
-
-
A presentation can be set up to run continuously on a screen. Passers by can stop and watch for a short while.
This can be used when you want to give people information. For example, the Post Office use this method to inform people about their products whilst queuing.
