COPE
Ordering Duration (Support Days. Weeks, Months) as in Arcus (Apply in Medication order info , Tapering)
*Admin instruction that currently auto computed in ARCUS should work the same in ARCUS AIR
- The auto supply quantity calculation function for certain UOM in ARCUS should be inherited in ARCUS AIR. Certain UOM is not supposed to calculate the quantity
- Arcus Air tapering order should automatically label each dose with Pack 1, 2, 3 and etc to avoid create confusion for dispensing staff.
- Same field is presented in different naming in ARCUS and ARCUS AIR. Need to make sure it is sync for allergy reaction type and event type.
During medication order, all alert prompt (drug interaction, drug duplicate, drug interaction, allergy, etc.) should be shown prominently to the doctor based on the allergy severity.
Note - All alert should be consolidated instead of individual alerts while saving the orders.
-
System should support ordering medication that is non-formulary, as non-formulary medicines have no code for the doctor to order. Currently pharmacy orders non-formulary medicine as Miscellaneous order.
-
To be able to order dosage by mg or ml instead of tab/vial/etc. To allow dosage to be entered by multiple prescription UOM
System should be enhanced to support start date/time and end date/time in medication order screen. Need to consider the impact on med station interface
Order status and terms use in Arcus Air should be the same as Arcus or vice versa. This is to avoid confusion of when switching from Arcus to Arcus Air e.g. Take Home Medication in Arcus, Discharge Medication in Arcus Air
To be able to specify the variable time to administer the drugs in the ordering screen, e.g. Malaria medication when order, to be able to enter specific administration time by course of the medication
Currently in Arcus if the drugs are not to be crushed, there is a prompt to notify doctor on ordering screen. To ensure the same will apply in Arcus Air
The available quantity should be consistent in order screen and order list (Arcus Air). Quantity in order screen does not tally in the order list
OP - Provision to exclude ward stock on LQ shown in medication ordering and to allow doctor to order if there is no stock for the medication.
IP - Provision to show global quantity of medication in order screen. To also show pharmacy stock and ward stock quantity. Also, to allow doctor to order if there is no stock for the medication.
-
Provision to have 'counselling required' checkbox in medication order screen and comments entry for doctors to fill in during medication order.
To enable medication ordering to have the flexibility to choose the specific day based on frequency. e.g. doctor order medication twice a week, and doctor should be able to choose which two days in a week for the prescription (e.g. select Tuesday and Thursday). The information should be printed on the prescription

Currently patient who is admitted without bed will be temporarily lodged in A&E or Daycare. If there is pre-admit medication placed for the patient, pharmacy will supply one dose to the patient while patient is waiting for bed. Once bed is allocated to the patient, pharmacy will profile the pre-admit medication into Med Station. To provide the To-Be workflow for this scenario.
If continuous medication doses for patient is supplied by pharmacy for 3 days, only 3 doses will appear on eMAR. Nurse / doctor might forget to re-order and therefore there is a risk of missing dose on the 4th day as pharmacy did not supply. To look into the workflow of IP fill.
EMR
To have another field for patient's ADR reaction under Drug Allergy. E.g. patient's ADR reaction is Diarrhea. To also enter in the remarks for the patient's ADR reaction
Patient banner allergy details should be enhanced to show the comments as entered for the selected allergy. (Arcus is already enhanced to show this, please make sure to have same in Arcus Air)
Allergy is to be entered by Nurse and validated by either Doctor or Pharmacy. To be able to prompt to enter allergy if no allergy has been recorded for the patient during medication order. To give a simplified option in ordering screen to mark NKDA when allergy is prompted
For ADR incident, clinical pharmacy will raise "Report on Suspected Adverse Drug Reactions" to report to National Centre For Adverse Drug Reactions Monitoring. Need to have function to attach the scanned document in allergy screen for the specific allergy.
Need to build a clinical pharmacist progress note in the system for clinical pharmacist (similar to other Allied health)
Pharmacy Intervention - to be able to mark drug in eMAR as reviewed by clinical pharmacist and enter in intervention and option to hold the medication. To also have option for doctors to view the intervention and either Accept or Reject intervention. If doctor accept intervention, system should prompt ordering screen for doctor to add on prescription. Pharmacy intervention is to be alerted to doctor when doctor open up patient's eMAR
Provision to validate allergy and indicate that the allergy has been reviewed by clinical pharmacist. This is a policy decision to be made on who will be entering allergies, i.e. nurse or doctors and whether pharmacy should validate the allergy if it is raised by the nurse.
Suggestion to provide Micromedex drug hyperlink (http://smcict01:81/micromedex2/librarian) when doctor search for drug to give them detailed information of the drugs in ordering screen (Doctor ordering screen)
MIMS Allergen list is in grouping of Generic, Trade Name and Substance Class. ARCUS AIR Allergen Master should have an option to define the type of allergen in order to capture the grouping information from MIMS. When recording allergy entry the allergen will be filtered according to the type chosen.
