He is self loathing because he hates this side of him that makes him appear weak and vulnerable hence he has rage and acts aggressively.

Misunderstands Lester as gay and kisses him. Lester obviously rejects him despite him opening up to him and showing his vulnerable side. He feels weak and vulnerable and results to killing him because looking at him everyday would be a constant reminder so he'd rather kill these feelings and relieve him of this pain.

Kind of a weirdo and he knows it. He accepts it, that's why he embraces it unlike Lester and his father who wear a mask and change themselves so they can fit into society.
