Head injury is defined as any injury or trauma to the scalp, the skull or the brain.

Is widespread axonal damage occurring after a mild, moderate or severe TBI

Can be minor to severe and can be localised to an area of injury. Focal injury consists of lacerations, contusions, haemotomas and cranial nerve injuries
