How could using a balance in research and reporting tactics have made a difference in the outcome of what was reported?
- Finding a balance could've protected the credibility of these new outlets moving forward.
- It could avoid further distress for civilians who were directly affected by the bombing.
Play devil's advocate, what opposing view could be expressed?
- Journalists could have been intentionally fed bad information so that the general public would feel like there was progress in the case.
- Pressure could've been placed on the news outlets by higher ups that did not want to the be the last to report potential new information.
