3. Production of Urine

Some substances in the initial filtrate such as glucose, amino acids, salts & a major amount of the water is selectively reabsorbed as urine flows along the tube
The amount of water reabsorbed depends on how much excess water is present in the body and on how much dissolved waste is to be excreted
The urine forming in each kidney eventually enters the long tubes ureters which connects kidneys to the urinary bladder
Urine is stored in the urinary bladder, until the pressure of an expanded bladder leads to an urge to pass urine

4. Excretion in Plants
- O2 & CO2 are excreted through the stomata in the leaves
- Excess water is excreted by transpiration
- Some waste products are stored in old leaves that fall off
- Plants also excrete some waste into the soil
- Other waste products are excreted along with gums & resins
