Assessment
Grades
The higher your grade, the better the outcome
-
Students get caught up in the "I need good grades" evil spiral instead of thinking about what they learn
-
Many curriculum are changing the way they assess the students which is positive. Not everything has to be a written test.
-
Make sure to use different tools. Rubric, continuum, exemplar, checklist, anecdotal notes and more

Written assignment, thesis or similar
I prefer this type of assessment instead of the written test taken at school. It gives me the chance to deepen the my knowledge about a subject, instead of just learning it for the sake of writing a test
Some students see this as the goal, that assessment is what we study for.
I think it is wrong to think that assessment is the goal; it should only be a part of the goal. The goal is to keep asking questions and going even further.
Presentations
I think this is a good opportunity to practice speech, listening and to work around other people.
Assessment is done to inform everyone; learners, facilitators and guardians.
Important for the sake of construction of knowledge; how to propel further inquiry with the help and strength of everyone in the learning environment
