Models of Technology Integration
SAMR
It is useful to evaluate how technology is being integrated in the classroom, and to think of how you can take it to the next level.
Its like a ladder method that moves from enhancing student learning to transforming student learning using technology
polishes students work by taking it from a simple piece of work to a more advanced piece of work by integrating multimedia tools
It allows users to find more meaningful uses of technology by transforming work and lessons from substitution to redefinition.
Something that was previously created is redefined using technology.
HACK
Teachers release control to students (gradual release) I DO, WE DO, YOU DO
The end goal is to have independent learners, students in full control
Teacher acts as a facilitator of learning and students take ownership and personalize their learning
After participating in a highly structured activity guided by the teacher, the students decide how they want to show evidence of what they learned.
TPACK
Content and pedagogy is the basis of the technology teachers use in classroom
Technology does not replace instruction. It enhances learning!
Teachers identify what type of technology supports their students as they learn the content they are teaching
The three domains work together and interact with one another to support effective technology integration.
TIM
Incorporates 5 meaningful learning environments: Active, Collaborative, constructive, authentic, goal-directed
helps chart a path for increasing student engagement
Moves from left to right, from teacher ownership of learning to students taking ownership of their learning
instructional focus shifts away from the tools (entry level) towards the content (transformation level)
