exposure to contaminated water leads to diseases such as cholera and dysentery being spreaded .
stagnant water lead to mosquito breeding leading to malaria and denque fever

flood water can sweep houses away and destroy property leading to people being homeless

floods can damage machinery and equipment such as drilling machines ,cranes and computers as these amchinery are submerged in water leading to damage to their motors and other electrical components
factories cannot function at full capacity and suffer economic losses therefore companies may lose profits and have to spend money on buying new equipment and also people may lose their jobs
transport infrastructure refers to roads and railway tracks
these infrastructure may become impassabe as they may be submerged or damaged . the infrastructure may also be weakened by the forces of the flood water.
cities have to spend time and money fixing these damaged infrastructure
people are unable to get to work and tourist are discouraged from visiting the country
leads to an overall reduction in productivity ,employment and profits
floods disrupt the supply of energy by affecting its disruption
disruption of energy affects the capacity of factories and companies to produce goods and services
power lines may be damaged
power outages
power failures may last for weeks before they are restored
factories and companies cannot operate
