The EU and the European Day of Languages protect language diversity and motivate students to learn languages.
Multilingualism is the use of more than one language. Global travels, studies, businesses and migration make our societies multilingual and multicultural.
If you speak languages it is easier to find a job, live or study outside your own country. You can also understand the foreign culture and respect one another within Europe.
Diversity in multicultural societies can lead into disagreements and racism. But multilingual speakers can stop these problems because there is a mutual understanding through the knowledge of language and culture.
Can EU fund more educational programmes on multilingualism and the protection of native and minority languages.Could we also have in every school a lesson or programme about dialects?
Local Dialects are part of our origins and culture. We need to protect our history and our identity in order to survive in a multicultural world.

It’s not only that you publish all official papers in all official languages, with that you also show respect for diversity.
Every citizen of the European Union has the right to live and work in any other member state. For that language skills are important and knowledge about other cultures too.
Dear EU, in September we celebrated the European Day of Languages. We think that a day like that is very important because it shows respect to all of the different people from all of the different member states of the European Union.
Meeting and talking to people from other countries when still at schools will prepare us for a future in a Europe that is united but diverse
