This quote describes the individualized theme of the Enlightenment which promotes liberation and freedom for individuals. The Enlightenment movement was one created on the idea of reason and thought and the freedom for people to think for themselves. The idea of democracy and the thought of the whole instead of the few thinking for the country was a revolutionizing idea that the Americans pioneered. This movement led to the U.S. having new and revolutionizing ideals that provided freedoms for an entire country.
