IMITATE THE APOSTOLE PAUL IN PREACHING AND TEACHING
ARE you a teacher?
show a fellow worker how to perform a particular task,
or explain to a child how to tie his shoes,
Every time you give directions to a lost traveler,
In a sense, we all are.
(...) you are teaching!
Helping others in such ways brings a measure of satisfaction, does it not?
We are commissioned to “make disciples of people . . . , teaching them.”
What a privilege it is to be a teacher of God’s Word and to share spiritual values that can have long-lasting benefits!
When it comes to teaching, true Christians have a unique responsibility.
On what does much of our effectiveness in the ministry depend?
Much of our effectiveness in the ministry depends,
not on the number of scriptures we read, but on the way we reason on and explain those we do read.
The Bible is, of course, our primary tool in the ministry.
ACTS 17:2,3
To “persuade” means to “win over.”
When we persuade a person to accept a Bible teaching, we are winning him over to place his trust in that teaching.
Paul spoke with “persuasion,” and so should we.
To accomplish this, we need to convince our listener of the truthfulness of what we say.
Using the Bible effectively in the ministry is not just a matter of quoting scriptures.
We must preach to everyone!
In the next photographs we find excellent suggestions.
2 - We can preach where and when we are likely to find people
3 - We can tactfully acknowledge others’ beliefs in order to establish common ground
1 - We can use the Scriptures to reason with people, and we can adapt our reasoning to our audience.
ACTS 17:22,23
Do you meditate on the needs and circumstances of your Bible students?
We might think of a viewpoint question or an illustration to help the student make progress
The same is true when we prepare our heart to go out in the field service.
We need time to meditate as we prepare to conduct a Bible study.
All such preparation will move us to witness effectively “with a demonstration of spirit and power” from the Word of God.
What does it mean?
Where will we preach?
ACTS 17:17
Observe the image.
... nor by cultural differences.
Bravely preaches to everyone.
The apostle Paul is not discouraged by confusion ....
