Mr. Enfield recalls past event of Mr. Hyde trampling a girl in the street, and offering compensation as he was seen. Although the check had Dr. Jekyll's name on it.

Chapter 4 - The Crew murder case
Events:
A maid witnesses the murder of an elderly gentleman in the middle of the night, and recognizes the murderer as Mr. Hyde. The police find a letter address to Utterson on the body and contact him. Utterson leads the police to Hyde's house.
Setting:
Night time.

Chapter 9 - Dr Lanyon's narrative

Chapter 10 - Henry Jekyll's full statement of the case
Events:
Jekyll's statements tells us about his scientific experiment to get rid of his darker self. In his this attempt to destroy the 'darker self'. he became addicted to the character of Hyde, who increasingly took over and destroyed him in the end.

Chapter 2 - Search for Hyde:
Events:
Utterson checks Jekyll's will and sees that Hyde is the benefactor. He visits Lanyon who has never heard of Hyde. Utterson watches the door and is shocked to see Hyde appear, so he goes to warn Jekyll and meets Poole who tells him that Jekyll has instructed the servants to obey Hyde.

Chapter 3 - Dr Jekyll was Quite at ease
Events:
Following a dinner party, Utterson remains to speak to Jekyll about his will, he asks Utterson to carry out his will and reassures him that he can be rid of Hyde when he chooses.

Dr.Jekyll's house.

Chapter 5 - Incident of the letter
Emotions:
Mystery, Suspicion.
Events:
Utterson visits Jekyll's house, and asks him if he is hiding Hyde. Jekyll confirms that he will never see Hyde again and produces a letter from Hyde. After Guest finds a resemblance between the letter and an invitation from Jekyll, Utterson believes that Jekyll has forged the letter to cover Hyde.

Chapter 7 - Incident at the window

Events:
While walking Utterson and Enfield are surprised to see Jekyll at his window and invite him to join them but Jekyll refuses. As they are talking, Jekyll's face changes to one of terror and despair. Utterson and Enfield leave in shock.

Chapter 8 - The last night
Events:
Utterson is asked by poole to go to Jekyll's house and they find the laboratory door locked. A voice has been heard crying for certain chemical for days, they break down the door and find a small body in big clothes that would fit Jekyll. They also find a will, a confession and a letter and Utterson retires to read the documents.

Dr. Jekyll's house.

Despair, Misery, Wretchedness. Worry.

Events:
Hyde is missing and Jekyll seems happier but then becomes depressed. Utterson visits Dr. Lanyon about Jekyll, but finds him dying, he blames Jekyll for his condition. Utterson writes to Jekyll to find out what is happened. Jekyll's reply suggests he is depressed. Lanyon dies after writing a letter to Utterson which is not to be opened till the death of Jekyll. Utterson makes frequent visits to Jekyll's house, but poole says Jekyll won't see anyone.
