Comprehension
The Input Hypothesis
According to this hypothesis, learners acquired language better when they are given challenging but at the same time comprehensible imput in order to continue to the next level or stage. It applies to langauge acquisiiotn not language learning.
It is similar to Vgotsky's Zone of Proximal Development because there has to be a balance for pushing the learner to go further on its own with "comprehensible input" and what the learner isn't able to do because the iput is too hard to uderstand.
Grammar
Natural Order Hypothesis: The acquisition of grammatical structure occus in a predictable order. this means that like it happens in the L1, in the L2 certain grammatical structures are acquired.
According to the Natural Approach, there shouldn't be too much focus on the grammar.
Only certain rules should be taught.
The goal is to create Optima Monitor users: this means performers that are able to use the grammar as a "supplement to acquisition" where it is appropriate.
Speaking: "We acquire form what we learn and hear not from what we say" : : :speaking_head_in_silhouette:(Krashen and Terell 1983).

The Affective Filter Hypothesis According to Krashen, if the learner suffers from anxiety, low self-esteem, or lack of motivation, that can block imput(the LAD) for a SLA. Motivation, self-confidnece and Anxiety are variables related to the second langauge acquisiotn(SLA).
Self-Confidence: When a learner is confident about his/her ability to learn the language, it will more often occur that way compare to a learner who doesn't believes in him/herself. The self-confiedence has to be high.
Motivaiton: A learner wtih a high motivation, does better compare to a learner with a low motivation in any type of learning not only on a L2.
Anxiety: If there is a low anxiety in the both the classroom and the learners personal anxiety, the learner will feel more confortable to acquire and or learn the L2 in a more natural manner.
**Monitor Hypothesis: According to Krashen, the learner is able to monitor and correct their language communication(output) based on the grammatical rules they know of the L2.
The goal of theNatural Approach is aim for beginners designed to aid them to progess into an intermediate level in a L2 in a more natural manner.
Krashen and Terrell develped 5 Hypothesis that implicate both the second langauge acquisiton and langauge teaching. These are 1. Acquired/Learning Hypothesis, 2. Monitor Hypothesis, 3. The Input Hypothesis, 4. Natural Order Hypothesis, and 5. The Affecitve Filter Hypothesis.

Visuals are important part of the acqusiiton prosses becaue they create a dirrect link between what it is and the mearning. :cow: + :boy: = :face_with_cowboy_hat:
